Some transformations really stand out and leave you speechless. One such celebrity body transformation is that of actor Ram Kapoor, something that he has achieved over a span of two years. It has left us astounded.
The Student Of The Year star used to weigh 130 kg at a time. His initial goal was to get to a healthy number when he was 45, which he will be on September 1 this year.
In an interview with Mumbai Mirror, Ram Kapoor spoke about his fitness journey. He said, “I was 130 kg when I started, and I want to lose another 25-30 kgs. I decided that I would have to take time off from work if I wanted to achieve my weight goals. It would need to be a substantial length of time. 6 months to a year.”
Ram Kapoor recently took to his official Instagram account to share his body transformation images with his fans. The hard work that he has put in on getting that fit body over the last two years is more than evident.
For his fat to fit journey, Ram chose the 16/8 diet.
SO WHAT IS THE 16/8 DIET?
The 16/8 hour diet is a non-restrictive diet that allows you to eat anything and everything during an 8-hour window in a day, and for the remaining 16 hours, you have to fast.
HOW DOES THE 16/8 DIET WORK?
Now, if you think that 16 hours is a long time not eating anything, it is not that difficult. You can make your eating window from 9 am to 5 pm and have a proper healthy breakfast, along with lunch and snacks till 5 pm. You will have to skip your dinner, and your fast will continue overnight.
Or the other option, which is easier than the first one, is that you skip your breakfast and have a healthy lunch and dinner and some healthy snacks throughout the day.
The actor went from being the chubby man in films and TV shows to the handsome hunk who carries the salt and pepper look with great poise in a matter of two years.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF THE 16/8 DIET?
Studies say that the 16/8 hour diet accelerates the weight loss process. This is because fasting cuts your calorie consumption in a day and boosts metabolism, leading to weight loss.
BUT IS A 16/8 DIET ALL GOOD AND SAFE?
With the good, along comes the bad. There are a few side effects of the much-appreciated diet. You might face short-term negative effects just at the beginning of the diet. These might include sudden hunger pangs, fatigue, and weakness, but they will subside once you get used to the format.
It might also lead to unhealthy eating habits, making sure you eat healthy snacks and meals during your 8-hour window.
This diet is generally considered safe, but if you have any problems or are on any medication, consult your doctor before starting the diet.
The diet also improves your blood sugar level in check, according to another study. Intermittent fasting is known to reduce the risk of insulin resistance by 31 percent and lowers blood sugar by 3-6 percent, which can lead to a reduced risk of diabetes.
