Being overweight takes a toll on your confidence levels and the way you feel about yourself. From not being able to fit into the clothes of your size to facing unsolicited comments daily, the battle with extra kilos is not only physical but a psychological one as well. Something similar happened with 21-year-old Honey Sheth, who was tired of being body shamed because of how she looked. She decided to turn her life by watching what she ate. Height: 5 feet 8 inches

Highest weight recorded: 94 kgs

Weight loss: 27 kgs

The duration took me to lose weight: 2 years

The turning point: One of the most heartbreaking aspects of being overweight is that it makes you feel unhealthy and unattractive. This, in itself, is enough to shatter your confidence levels.
Additionally, there were also times when people made fun of me because of my weight. This is when I finally decided to do something for myself and my body. I began by testing various kinds of diets and finally started following the Keto diet.

How do I stay motivated?
What was the lowest point for you?

My breakfast:

One glass of almond milk, one cheese slice, and around 50 grams of stir-fried green vegetables

My lunch:

100 grams of paneer with one bowl of vegetables

My dinner:

100 grams of paneer (cottage cheese), two dishes of vegetables, and one container of clear soup

Pre-workout meal:

A couple of almonds and a cup of green tea

Post-workout snack:

1 glass of almond milk and one cheese slice

I indulge in: I follow Keto religiously since it is supposed to be a complete lifestyle change. I am entirely dedicated to this diet and do not give in to the urge to have cheat meals. Whenever I crave anything tasty, I would go to restaurants serving Keto-friendly food and desserts.

My workout:

My workout consists of an hour of brisk walking, exercises that can be done at home, and yoga.

Low-calorie recipes I swear by While the Keto diet is all about consuming fats regularly, I realized that it could get tedious to eat paneer (cottage cheese) almost every day. On such days, one can always opt for cauliflower rice or Zoodles (zucchini noodles).

Fitness secrets I unveiled:

There are no such secrets that can magically reduce your weight. We need to identify our weight loss goal and work towards it tirelessly.

How do I stay motivated?

I want to look like the best version of myself and hence, would go to any lengths to achieve the same.

How do you ensure you don’t lose focus? I know what I want to achieve, and I am willing to do whatever it takes to reach there.

What’s the most challenging part of being overweight? I had always been the girl who wanted to dress stylishly but being overweight always proved to be a hindrance. I was not able to get the right clothes of my size, which impacted my self-confidence.

What shape do you see yourself ten years down the line? I wish to be in the best way in terms of my health and work out every day.

What are the lifestyle changes you made? I completely stopped going out for late dinners and made sure that I exercised for at least 1 hour every day.

What was the lowest point for you?

It was heartbreaking to see myself go out of shape slowly. Additionally, people did not leave any opportunity to body shame me.

Lessons learned from weight loss: A healthy body leads to a healthy mind. I have realized how one hour of walking can do wonders to your body, and losing even a few kilos can boost your confidence levels.
