Come monsoons, and our cravings reach an all-time high. One of our favorite ways to spend a rainy evening is digging into a hot and delectable bhutta. Bhutta or roasted corn cob is a monsoon staple in India, so much so that you can even hear some foodies refer to monsoons as ‘the bhutta-wala season’ or the season of corn cobs. Sure, there is no shortage of special monsoon offerings.
We agree that masala chai and pakodas define monsoons in Bollywood, but you must admit that corn has a special fan base in the country that sees a peculiar upsurge during monsoons. Many of us may know that corns are used in making a lot of daily use products like cornmeal, corn flakes, corn flour, corn syrup, and corn oil, but you would be surprised to know that you can make a bevy of dishes with corn. Boiled corns can be sneaked inside sandwiches or burritos, tossed up in salads, used as a topping for pizza. If you do not like certain vegetables, you can throw in some corn kernels to spruce up the dish too!
Corns are bursting with several health benefits. Corn kernels have a decent amount of lutein and zeaxanthin that help promote healthy vision. It is packed with a range of healthy antioxidants that help boost heart health. Sweet corns are an excellent source of folate, vitamin B6, niacin, and potassium too. Additionally, you can include sweet corn in your weight diet also. But be very careful. Corn kernels are slightly high on carbs, so if you are on a low-carb diet, you may want to consult an expert before loading up on corn. It needs to be understood that most of the carbs found in sweet grains are of the ‘good’ kind. They do not metabolize so soon and leave you hungry again. Soft corns make for a decent source of fiber and protein. Both fiber and protein take a while to digest. Due to which you feel full and stay away from bingeing. If you eat in moderate quantities, you are much likely to lose weight faster.

Cheryl also drinks an exciting creation, celery juice.
She said: “The celery juice is very recent for me. It’s not my favorite vegetable, to be honest, but it’s doable.
“So somebody said I should follow this guy on Instagram, he was getting so many testimonials – he’s called the Medical Medium – and he thinks you should drink 16oz (half a liter) of celery juice on an empty stomach in the morning before you have anything else, and it’s healing for your organs.”
While there is little evidence to show celery has healing properties for the organs, exercise is also good for your health.
